We will explore seasonal ingredients, adaptogens, herbs, mind food, Ayurveda and hormones, providing complimentary recipes and rituals to support you through the Winter season and into Spring.

9th December 2021 | Part I: Rituals, Hormones & Sleep with Jardin Collective and Fungtn

The wonderful Charlotte and Zoey have teamed up with Plant Academy again to help you introduce adaptogens into your rituals and routines to improve your hormone and sleep cycles through the winter months.

We will be focusing on winter and the foods you can eat to nourish and revitalise your body, boost your immunity and bring back balance to your body. We will do an in-depth look at the menstrual cycle and circadian rhythms and you will learn how to tune into your imbalances and how to adjust them.

We also will investigate how your sleep patterns and mental health are affected by the winter months, and what you can do to combat seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and improve your mood and sleep.

You will learn about when to take supplements and adaptogens to increase bioavailability and potency, adaptogen stacking, using adaptogens as ingredients and changing your adaptogens with the seasons.

Fungtn is the first adaptogenic, alcohol free craft beer range brewed with functional mushrooms. A unique product that brings together the growth markets of no and low alcohol, craft beer and functional drinks. We wanted to create more mindful options for conscious consumers looking to reduce their alcohol consumption and help empower their health. We have proven that a traditional craft beer can be made without alcohol or animal derivatives and align with those making more mindful choices.

Jardin Collective is a medicinal mushroom company creating tonics, powders and skincare using functional fungi and herbs to bring magic to your everyday routine. We are passionate about utilising the healing power of mushrooms and plants to boost overall wellbeing for the mind and body. 17th February 2022 | Part III: Finding Balance with Ayurveda with Abilasha from Moonji

Abilasha, the founder of Moonji, will be sharing her knowledge of Ayurveda and Doshas, and what this means to you. She will also be explaining what your Agni is and how to best look after it. Abi will also guide you through aligning yourself with the seasons and eating accordingly; so that you can find balance, enjoy life and digest it well too! The event will end with a guided meditation to help balance the Doshas.

Abilasha is the founder of Moonji, a plant-based, clean-label ice cream brand, inspired by Ayurveda. Abi founded Moonji in 2018, shortly after returning from a transformative six-month trip across Latin America. Having grown up in London, whilst away, she found herself developing a new connection to her own north Indian heritage, and in particular to the foods and flavours that reminded her of home.

The health benefits of these unique spice blends and flavour infusions led her to Ayurveda, the ancient wisdom of keeping our mind and body in balance for optimum wellness. In the space of a year, her ice cream grew from concept to being sold in acclaimed vegan restaurant Farmacy in both London and New York, later in The Parlour at Fortnum and Mason's and most recently in Planet Organic.

16th March 2022 | Part IV: Herbal Medicine with Lily Canetty-Clarke

We end this series with an introduction into herbal medicine and preparing the immune system for the seasonal transition into Spring.

We will be focusing on the immune system and how we can use plants as both a preventative and reactive strategy to combat seasonal allergies like hay fever. Lily will be talking us through the anti-allergy plants we can forage in spring & how to blend them into a herbal tea as well as highlighting the role that diet and stress play in spring allergies.

Lily is a medical herbalist and holistic wellness practitioner in Bristol. She graduated from the University of Westminster with a first class honours degree in Herbal Medicine, holds a diploma in Nutritional Health Science, a degree in Experimental Psychology and has completed an Ayurvedic apprenticeship.

After more than six years of studies she has combined and integrated her teachings to build a clinical practice that integrates the key pillars of health and well being. Her study of the mind, nutrition, ayurveda and herbs has provided her with a holistic tool kit to help support the whole body rather than just focus on symptoms.

Lily's main passion is in educating us about the power in plants and to date she has run her own workshops, spoken at the annual National herb conference, supported Jekka's Herb Fest and Herbal Reality projects, holds herbal interviews for the Herb Society, and consults on the education team for Twinings tea.
